INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indianapolis women's tennis team earned a dominant 7-0 sweep over Huntington on Friday afternoon (Feb. 21) at the West Indy Racquet Club. The Jaguars won all three doubles matches to claim the early point and carried that momentum into singles play, capturing all six courts in straight sets.
In doubles action, the No. 1 tandem of
Kally Kadzinski and
Elle Kotre set the tone with a decisive 6-1 win over Huntington's Yariange Bello and Addison Mast.
Calli Sokolowski and
Sara Jankovic followed with a 6-3 victory at No. 2 doubles against Isabella Herrera and Tiziana Rizzato.
Hanan Awale and
Chloe Bailey completed the sweep at the No. 3 spot, defeating Coby Sander and Sofia Kurshinskaia, 6-4.
The Jaguars continued their strong play in singles competition, winning every match in straight sets. At the top of the lineup, Kadzinski earned a hard-fought 6-3, 7-6 victory over Herrera at No. 1 singles. Jankovic cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win over Rizzato at No. 2, while Sokolowski secured a 6-2, 6-4 decision against Bello at the No. 3 position.
Bailey added a 6-0, 6-2 triumph over Mast at No. 4 singles, and Kotre notched a 6-3, 6-2 victory against Kurshinskaia at No. 5.
Grace Lampman closed out the afternoon in dominant fashion, blanking Sander 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
With the win, the Jaguars secured a clean sweep on their home courts and improve to 3-3.
