INDIANAPOLIS - IU Indianapolis men's cross country graduate transfer Izaiah Steury has been named #HLXC Men's Runner of the Week after an impressive Jaguar debut at Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational on Friday (Oct. 2). Steury, a Notre Dame-transfer, showed well on the familiar turf in South Bend in his IU Indy debut, helping the Jaguars place eighth among an elite national field.

Individually, Steury finished ninth of 163 total runners in a school record time of 23:25.7, becoming the first runner in program history to go under 24 minutes at the 8K distance.

In the team standings, the Jaguars finished just ahead of Indiana and in front of typical mid-major powers Eastern Michigan, Belmont, Akron and Youngstown State at the event.
