UNDERMANNED JAGUARS FALL ON THE ROAD AT ROBERT MORRIS, 74-58

Jaguars (6-17, 2-10 HL) open two-game trip with a loss on Wednesday (Jan. 28)

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The IU Indianapolis men's basketball team was unable to earn a season sweep of Robert Morris as the Jaguars fell to the Colonials on the road on Wednesday night (Jan. 28), 74-58. Ryan Prather led three Colonials in double-digits with 20 points on 6-of-10 shooting and Darius Livingston finished with 14 points off the bench.

Micah Davis paced IU Indy (6-17, 2-10 HL) with 18 points and four assists and Reece Hagy added nine points on a perfect 3-of-3 shooting. The Jaguars played without the league's top scorer, junior Kyler D'Augustino, who suffered an injury in the closing minutes of the road win at Oakland.

"We definitely missed Kyler tonight, but we have other guys that are more than capable of stepping up and helping fill the void," head coach Ben Howlett said. "Micah did a good job with the starting group, but then you miss his pop coming off the bench.

"We have another tough one on the road on Friday and we'll be ready. We need to rest up and be ready for another tough opponent in Youngstown State."

RMU (14-9, 6-6 HL) shot 49 percent overall and 11-of-22 (50 percent) from three while devouring the glass to a 41-24 margin. The Colonials converted 14 offensive boards into 15 second chance points while limiting IU Indy to just six second chance points and 26 points in the paint.

The game opened at a quick pace with both defenses struggling to stop the opponents' attack. After RMU went ahead 14-0 on a Livingston trey, IU Indy responded with a Matt Compas layup and Maguire Mitchell trey to take a brief lead. The teams traded the lead 10 times before intermission, the last coming when RMU scored seven straight points after the Jags had taken a 27-24 lead on a Jaxon Edwards transition bucket.

RMU took a 36-33 lead with 2:09 left before halftime on a Ta'Zir Smith three and neither team scored over the final two-plus minutes as the hosts took the lead to the break.

The Jags never got over the hump in the second half and the hosts finally authored the knockout blow with a 9-0 run late in the game. IU Indy was within five at 56-51 with 8:37 to play when Edwards collected a steal and a left-handed dunk in transition before going scoreless for the next two minutes.

Josh Hill opened the run with a long jumper, followed by a Smith layup. After a pair of free throws, Prather added an open trey to push the lead to 14.

The Jaguars ended the game at 41 percent from the floor and a respectable 9-of-24 (37.5 percent) from three. Edwards had eight points and six rebounds while Aiden Miller also had eight points and six rebounds off the bench, including a pair of treys. Senior Finley Woodward had four points, five assists, three rebounds and two steals.

The Jaguars will close the two-game road trip at Youngstown State on Friday (Jan. 30) at 6:30 p.m. That game will be aired on ESPN+ and can be heard in Central Indiana on 1430 Indy's Sports Ticket.
