Indianapolis-  IU Indy cross country's Julie Smith earns this week's 92c Athlete of the Week. Smith was the team's top finisher at the Rumble in the Fort on Saturday (Sept. 20), placing 5th of 92 runners. 

The redshirt junior from Granger, Indiana, set a brand new personal record for herself with a time of 21:38.3. Her time was the 6th-fastest 6K time in program history. It marked her first cross-country race in nearly two years after she missed all of last season due to injury. 

This is Smith's first 92c Athlete of the Week and the first title for the women's cross country team this season. Smith and the rest of the Jaguars will travel to South Bend, Indiana, on Friday (Oct. 3) at 10:00 AM to compete in the Notre Dame Joe Piane Invitational.
