WOMEN'S SOCCER TO CAP NON-CONFERENCE SCHEDULE AGAINST TOLEDO

IU Indy (1-6) to host the Rockets on Sunday (Sept. 14) at Carroll Stadium

INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis women's soccer team will close out its non-conference schedule on Sunday (Sept. 14) when the Jaguars host Toledo at 1:00 p.m. inside the on-campus Michael A. Carroll Stadium. The Jaguars look to snap a three-game slide following Thursday's road loss at Butler.

The Jaguars put up a solid defensive effort against a strong Bulldog squad on Thursday night but ultimately fell on the road, 2-0. The Jaguars' attack was blanked for a third straight game since the 3-0 road win at Indiana State back on Aug. 27. Injuries have piled up, particularly in the attack as Emma Antoine, Avery Bangert and Anika Guenther have all missed significant time. Olivia Hopper and Hannah Roberson continue to lead the group with three points apiece while Guenther and junior Caroline Kelley have each attempted a team-high 13 shots.

Defensively, senior midfielder Emma Frey has played all 630 minutes this season while senior defender Kailyn Smith has missed just one minute of game action. In goal, senior Sarah Bambrick has been the No. 1 option with a 1.92 goals against average and .579 save percentage while fellow senior Arissa North has been strong in relief with a 1.06 GAA and .850 save percentage.

QUOTABLE
We battled for 90 minutes. We were right there with them in the first half, having some (scoring) opportunities. We knew that they played a high line, so we figured we could use a couple quick counters on them and it almost worked," head coach Angela Berry White said following the Thursday loss at Butler.

SCOUTING TOLEDO
The Rockets are 3-1-1 on the season, including shutout wins over Oakland and Saint Francis. The Rockets are 0-1-1 on the road with a road loss at Eastern Kentucky and draw at Cincinnati. Morgan Spitler leads the UT attack with six points (3 goals) and Kaema Amachree has a pair of goals. Molly Kennedy has a team-high two assists. In goal, Agnes Stenlund has started all five matches with a 1.00 goals against average and .750 save percentage.

INSIDE THE SERIES
The Jaguars are 1-2-1 against the Toledo Rockets. The last matchup was last year, resulting in a 1-1 tie as Kelley scored an early goal off an assist from Frey.

UP NEXT
The Jaguars will open Horizon League play on Sunday, Sept. 21 when they host Northern Kentucky at noon inside Carroll Stadium on ESPN+.
