INDIANAPOLIS - Three members of the IU Indianapolis men's basketball program have been named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as announced on Tuesday (Mar. 25). The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. 

The Jaguars Sean Craig, Alec Millender and Paul Zilinskas were all honored for their efforts while Zilinskas will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot, which will be announced on Apr. 1.

Zilinskas has maintained a 3.74 grade point average while pursuing his graduate certificate in communication studies. On the court, he was recently named Second Team All-Great Lakes Region from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC). He averaged 18.0 points and 2.8 rebounds per game in his lone season with the Jaguars while making 92 threes and shooting 41.1 percent from beyond the arc. He ranked among the nation's top-50 in both threes made and three-point percentage, while also finishing the season ranked No. 3 in the Horizon League in scoring. He also ranked among the nation's leaders in free throw percentage, connecting on 89.4 percent for the season. 

Craig holds a 3.75 grade point average while pursuing his degree in finance. The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 12.1 points and a team-high 7.7 rebounds per game in his first season with the program. He was the lone Jaguar to start all 32 games and shot 43.1 percent from the floor and 37.6 percent from three-point range. He also led the team in blocked shots (14) and was second on the team in steals (35). 

Millender owns a 3.57 grade point average while pursuing his Master's degree in sports journalism. The Chicago-native took over the starting point guard job in his first year with the program and averaged 8.2 points, 3.7 assists and 1.8 rebounds per game. He shot 46.3 percent from the floor and 43.5 percent from three-point range while leading the Horizon League in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.95). Millender also shot 78.9 percent from the free throw line. 

Both Craig and Millender are expected to return next season and form a strong returning core for head coach Paul Corsaro's program.
