INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis women's basketball team is set to take on the Ball State Cardinals in the Jungle on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 1:00 PM. The Jaguars are currently 1-1 overall.
IU Indy is coming off of a 64-67 loss against Northwestern after opening the season with a 67-64 win against Indiana State. At Northwestern,
E'Zaria Adams and
Destini Craig led the Jaguars with 13 points each, followed by
Sydney Bolden adding 11 points.
Olivia Smith and
Hailey Smith also added 10 points apiece. IU Indy's defense shined as the team forced 19 turnovers and collected 13 steals.
Ball State is coming off of a 68-66 victory at Arkansas State on Monday, Nov. 3. The Cardinals were led in scoring by Sophomore Grace Kingery with 15 points. Junior Karsyn Norman followed with 14 points and Freshman Zhen Verburgt had 13. Senior Bree Salenbien led the Cardinals defensively with 12 rebounds.
The Jaguars and the Cardinals have gone head-to-head 11 times. The most recent matchup was Nov. 8, 2024, when the Jaguars fell 63-89. IU Indy could not overcome Ball State's strong offense which led to 26 turnovers.
Sunday's game will be aired on ESPN+.
