SWIM AND DIVE SET TO HOST NORTHERN KENTUCKY AND WASH U

The Jags will welcome both teams to the IU Indy Natatorium on Saturday

INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indy swim and dive team is set to host a dual meet on Saturday (Nov. 8) at 4:00 PM against the Washington University Bears and the Northern Kentucky Norse.
 
The Jags traveled to Chicago on Oct. 25 where they took on UIC. The Jaguar's men took a 197-97 win while the women's team was defeated 219-80. The Jags men had a clean sweep in the 1000 freestyle with Luke Parsons, Michael Esdon, and Youssef Magdy took top three. On the women's side, Vicky Surdyka took first in the 100 breast (1:07.55)
 
The IU Indy men's swim and dive team are currently undefeated in dual meets with a 10-0 overall and a 3-0 conference mark. They are currently on a winning streak of 3 against the Wash U Bears after defeating them with a 174-125 mark on Jan. 18, 2025. They also hold the lead over NKU, following a 197-37 victory in the first meet on Oct. 5, 2024.
 
The IU Indy women's swim and dive team have a 10-2 overall and a 3-0 conference mark. They are currently on a winning streak of 3 against the Bears, leading with a 196-101 victory on Jan. 18, 2025. They also hold the lead over NKU following an impressive 160-7 win on Oct. 5, 2024.
 
The WashU men's swim and dive team currently have 1-1 overall and a 0-0 conference mark. On Nov. 1, they fell to UChicago with a score of 330-264. Freshman Jackson Heether won the 50 free (21.26). Freshman Parker Chan claimed a win in the 500 free (4:36.48).
 
The WashU women's swim and dive team currently have 0-2 overall and a 0-0 conference mark. On Nov. 1, they fell to UChicago with a score of 167-133. Junior Iris Qi won the 200 free (1:56.21). She also claimed first in the 100 free (52.73). Junior Shanze Karimi won 1-Meter with a score of 239.05.
 
The NKU men's team fell 173-85 against Xavier. Freshman Isaac Barrow set a record with a 1:55.35 time in 200 back. Sophomore Ethan Johnson also set a record in 400 IM (4:18.22).
 
The NKU women's team fell 197-50 on Oct. 24 when they took on Xavier. Freshman Hailey Paulick set two program records in the 100 and 200 freestyle. She finished with a time of 54.16 for 100 free and 1:56.64 for 200 free. Sophomore Macy Ganshert set a program record in the 100 fly (59.84). She also set a record in the 50 free (25.45).
 
Saturday's meet will start at 4:00 PM inside the IU Indy Natatorium.
