MEN'S BASKETBALL RETURNS HOME TO HOST MOREHEAD STATE

IU Indy (2-6) looks to snap a three-game skid on Saturday (Nov. 29)

INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis men's basketball team will return home immediately after the Thanksgiving holiday to host Morehead State (3-4) inside the Jungle on Saturday (Nov. 29) at 2:00 p.m. Saturday's game will be broadcast on ESPN+ as Greg Rakestraw (pxp) and Kristin Haseley (analyst) describe the action and can be heard in Central Indiana on 1430 Indy's Sports Ticket as Jimmy Cook (pxp) is on the call. 

Head coach Ben Howlett's squad looks to snap a three-game skid after the Jaguars dropped both games of the Air Force Classic last week. The Jaguars (2-6) continue to rank as the nation's fastest tempo according to KenPom.com while scoring 92.4 points per game. However, the Jaguars are yielding 98.3 points per game and allowing foes to shoot 53.6 percent from the floor. The Jags continue to rank among the nation's elite in assists (5th nationally at 21.1 apg) and steals (12th nationally at 11.3 spg) heading into Saturday's contest. 

Junior guard Kyler D'Augustino leads the team at 15.4 points per game while shooting 59.3 percent from the floor. Fifth-year Matt Compas is scoring 14.9 points per game with a team-high 19 steals and freshman Maguire Mitchell checks in at 11.5 points per game and a team-high 22 threes. Four other Jaguars are scoring more than eight points per game with senior Finley Woodward averaging 9.4 points and a team-high 5.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. 

Both Kameron Tinsley and JP Dragas have shot well from the perimeter recently with Tinsley going 8-of-12 in two games at the Air Force Classic to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Dragas averaged 13.0 points per game over the recent three-game road trip, including a 20-point outburst against Alabama State on Nov. 21. 

SCOUTING MOREHEAD STATE
Morehead State is 3-4 on the season and 1-4 in road games with a recent 83-80 win at Louisiana Monroe. The Eagles come in averaging 79.6 points per game and shooting 46.8 percent from the floor. The Eagles also outrebound their opponents by more than three rebounds per game. Individually, Davion Cunningham (12.3 ppg) and George Marshall (11.9 ppg) pace a balanced attack that has eight players scoring better than seven points per game.  

INSIDE THE SERIES
The series is knotted at 3-3 between the two schools as IU Indy won the initial three meetings and MSU has won the most recent three contests. IU Indy is 2-1 in the prior three meetings in Indy. MSU won the most recent meeting, 80-52 in Indianapolis on Dec. 21, 2021.
