YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio. - The IU Indianapolis men's basketball team will head to Youngstown State on Saturday (Feb. 1) seeking a bounceback effort after opening the two-game trip at RMU on Thursday. Freshman
DeSean Goode pumped in a career-high 18 points (6-8 FG, 1-2 3's, 5-8 FT) and five rebounds at RMU on Thursday for the team's lone bright spot in a 106-53 defeat. Defensively, the Jaguars yielded a season-high 106 points, 37 field goals and 53 rebounds to RMU as seven Colonials scored in double-digits.
Besides Goode's 18-point night, graduate transfer
Jarvis Walker added 10 points and
Sean Craig grabbed 10 rebounds to lead the way. Freshman
Keenan Garner contributed eight points off the Jaguar bench.
The Jags enter Saturday's game seeking to regain defensive form after having allowed better than 50 percent shooting and more than 90 points in each of its past two games. RMU shot 52.1 percent from the field and 12-of-22 from three while holding the Jaguars to a season-low three makes from long distance on Thursday.
Despite the off-kilter performance, the Jaguars still rank among the nation's best three-point shooting teams, ranking No. 22 nationally at 10.2 makes per game. Graduate transfer
Paul Zilinskas continues to lead the Horizon League in both three-point percentage (41.3%) and free throw percentage (88.9%) while scoring a team-high 17.1 points per game.

SCOUTING YOUNGSTOWN STATE
YSU is 14-9 overall and 8-4 in Horizon League play, having won two-in-a-row heading into Saturday's game. YSU is 7-3 this season inside Zidian Family Arena at Beeghly Center. The Penguins have been strong defensively, holding foes to 70.7 points per game and just 41.7 percent from the field. In addition, YSU holds opponents to just 31.9 percent from three-point range as well. EJ Farmer leads three YSU players in double-digits at 14.7 points per game and Nico Galette averages 11.7 points and a team-high 6.3 rebounds per game. Ty Harper tallies 10.4 points per game and is shooting a team-high 38.3 percent from three-point range.
SERIES HISTORY
IU Indy is just 2-22 all-time against Youngstown State and 2-12 in 14 matchups in Youngstown. The Penguins have won the last eight meetings in the series, including a 77-61 outcome in Indianapolis earlier this season.
