INDIANAPOLIS – IU Indy women's cross country senior Ellie Cates earns this week's 92c Athlete of the Week after her performance at the Jaguars Invitational.
 
Cates, a senior from Fort Wayne, Indiana, clocked a time of 18:54.18 to place fourth among 43 runners. She ran with the lead pack for the bulk of the race before falling off the pace in the final mile. With her fourth place finish she helped pace IU Indy to a runner-up finish at the Jaguars Invitational on a steamy Friday (Sept. 20) at the Blue River Course in Shelbyville.
 
This marks the first 92c Athlete of the Week for Cates this season and her second during her career after earning the title last season on February 1. Cates and the rest of the IU Indy women's cross country team will next travel to South Bend for the Notre Dame Joe Piane Invitational on Friday, October 4.
