MEN'S SOCCER ROUNDS OUT RECRUITING CLASS WITH FIVE SIGNEES

Head coach Sid van Druenen adds three transfers and two international freshmen

INDIANAPOLIS - The IU Indianapolis men's soccer program and head coach Sid van Druenen announced the signings of five student-athletes to finalize his recruiting class for the upcoming 2024 season. The third-year head coach inked three transfers - Luke Kegerreis (Xavier), Cameron Radeke (Wright State) and Mason Taylor (Ohio Wesleyan) - along with a pair of international signees in Justin Figaroa (Eindhoven, Netherlands) and Stan Klaver (Woerden, Netherlands). 

"The addition of these five guys will add college and high level international experience to a talented, but young, core group and I am expecting to see immediate impact from all of them on and off the field," van Druenen said. 

Justin Figaroa (Eindhoven, Netherlands)
5-foot-9 // Forward/Midfielder

-Plays for the professional youth academy FC Eindhoven U18
-Helped Eindhoven climb to the 2nd Division following a 3rd Division championship
-Ranked among Eindhoven's leaders in minutes played and total assists

van Druenen on Figaroa
"Justin is one of the hardest working forwards I've seen. He has had strong attacking contributions for his U18 team in the Netherlands. Expectations from him are high as we believe he has all the attributes to be successful at the D1 level."


Luke Kegerreis (Indianapolis, Ind. / Roncalli / Xavier)
6-foot-4 // Defender

-Redshirted this past season at Xavier University
-Was an All-Circle City Conference and all-state performer while at Roncalli High School
-Played for the Fire Academy MLS Next and Indy Eleven U19s after previously playing for Columbus Express SC and Alliance FC
-Helped Indy Eleven's U19s to a East-Central Division title in 2022-23

"Luke is a local product that we have known from his team with the Indy Eleven Academy. He is a tall and physical defender with great passing range and ability and I am looking forward to see what he can mean for our program."


Stan Klaver (Woerden, Netherlands / Thorbecke Talentschool Rotterdam)
6-foot-1 // Defender

-Played in roughly 30 games for Excelsior U21s, totaling five goals and eight assists
-Climbed from the 4th Division to 2nd Division in two years, going unbeaten in 4th Division play
-Reaching the semifinals of the National Cup this past year
-Previously played for Excelsior U18s, totaling four goals and a team-high 18 assists

"Stan plays at the highest level in the Netherlands U21 system and is a very attacking minded wing back with a high soccer IQ and great crossing ability. He should fit perfectly in our system."


Cameron Radeke (Naperville, Ill. / Naperville North / Wright State)
6-foot-1 // Forward

-Appeared in 20 matches, making four starts the past two seasons at Wright State
-Tallied 18 goals and nine assists as a senior at Naperville North (Ill.) High School
-Helped Naperville North to a Class 3A supersectional his senior year

"I was a part of recruiting Cameron to Wright State and I am hoping he can kickstart his college career in a new environment here with us. He is a very technical and mobile forward that will add quality to our attacking group."


Mason Taylor (Marysville, Ohio / Marysville / Ohio Wesleyan)
6-foot-2 // Goalkeeper

-Made 58 starts in goal the past three seasons at Ohio Wesleyan, recording a 31-10-7 record and 20 shutouts
-Closed his Ohio Wesleyan career with a 0.70 goals against average and .843 save percentage
-Two-time first team North Coast Athletic Conference selection and 2022 Defensive Player of the Year
-Named to the NCAC All-Decade Men's Soccer Team in November 2023
-Began his career by redshirted at Saint Louis in 2019

"Mason has over 50 games played at the collegiate level and knows what it takes to be successful. He will add quality and valuable experience to our keeper group."
