INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI men's tennis team fell in a close match to Eastern Kentucky on Saturday afternoon, 4-3.
Noah Viste,
Nate Day and
Eli Mercer all earned singles points in the loss.
The Jags dropped the doubles point to begin the match.
Kamil Kozerski and
Blessing Benibo fell in the number one spot, 6-2 while Viste and
Steven Paz dropped the number two match, 6-3.
After falling behind 1-0, the Jags fought in singles play earning three points but it wasn't quite enough to take the match. Viste earned an impressive two set win in the number two singles spot, 6-2, 6-4. Day earned the number three singles win in three sets, 7-6, 6-7, 11-9 and Mercer took the number six match, 7-6, 4-6, 10-6.
Kozerski fell in the number one spot 6-2, 6-4 while Paz dropped the number four singles match, 6-2, 6-3.
Luka Rodic lost in the number five singles spot, 7-6. 6-4.
IUPUI will next travel to Nashville to play Lipscomb on March 8 with a first serve set for 1:00 PM.
