DAYTON, Ohio – The IUPUI men's tennis team fell to Dayton on Sunday afternoon, 7-0. The Jags are coming off a win at home on Saturday but couldn't continue the momentum on the road.
IUPUI dropped the doubles point to fall behind early.
Emil Jankowski and
Kamil Kozerski fell in the number one doubles spot, 6-3 while the partnership of
Will Thurin and
Noah Viste dropped the number two doubles match, 6-2.
Down 1-0, the Jags struggled to get momentum in singles play. Kozerski fell in the number one spot, 6-3, 6-2 while Jankowski lost in the number two spot, 6-2, 6-1.
Steven Paz dropped the number three singles match, 6-2, 6-2 while Viste lost in the number four spot, 6-2, 6-2.
Luka Rodic fought to keep the number five singles match close but ultimately lost, 7-5, 6-3.
Eli Mercer fell in the first set of the number six match 6-2 then fought hard in the second set to make it even but ultimately fell 7-5.
The Jags are now 3-4 on the season and will next travel to Chicago to face UIC on Sunday, February 11 at 11:00 AM.
