INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI basketball team fell victim to a hot shooting Purdue Fort Wayne team on Senior Day inside Indiana Farmers Coliseum, falling to the Mastodons, 92-65. Purdue Fort Wayne (16-9, 7-7 HL) shot better than 60 percent from the floor and connected on 12-of-25 (48 percent) from three while IUPUI was held to just 45 percent from the floor.

Bryce Monroe led the Jaguars with 16 points and four assists and sophomore
Vincent Brady II finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and a career-high five steals. Jalen Jackson led three Mastodons in double-digits with 24 points and Eric Mulder had 15 points on 7-of-7 shooting to accompany three blocked shots.
Purdue Fort Wayne broke a 9-9 tie with a 10-1 run to build an eight-point lead and largely controlled from there. IUPUI got back within two at 18-16, but the Mastodons scored the game's next five points and never relinquished the lead. The advantage grew to 19 by halftime as the guests scored the final eight points of the half, including a long Quinton Morton-Robertson three as time expired.
Despite shooting 54 percent in the second half, IUPUI was unable to make a dent in the Mastodons advantage as the guests shot 70 percent overall after halftime.
Morton-Robertson finished with 14 points, including four treys, and eight assists for the victors. Anthony Roberts added 13 points on 4-of-6 shooting.
IUPUI's top scorer,
Jlynn Counter, returned after missing the past two games and was limited to eight points in 24 minutes. Counter was assessed an early technical foul and sat the final 13 minutes of the first half with two personals.
Qwanzi Samuels had nine points off the IUPUI bench and
Abdou Samb tallied eight points.
The Jaguars will return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 14, when they take on Detroit Mercy at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN+.
