INDIANAPOLIS – The IU Indy women's basketball team returns to Indianapolis to host the Youngstown State Penguins as they resume Horizon League play on Saturday, December 28. The Penguins and Jags are set for a 2:00 PM tip inside the Jungle.

IU Indy is coming off back-to-back losses at the FGCU Holiday Classic. Nevaeh Foster led the Jags' offensive in both games totaling 14 points in IU Indy's loss to East Tennessee State. She was one rebound short of a double-double with nine rebounds. In the Jags' loss to North Carolina A&T, Foster totaled 17 points with four rebounds and two steals.

While the Jags are averaging 60.3 points per game, newcomer Shania Nichols-Vannett leads the team in scoring with 12.2 points per game. The sophomore totaled a career-high 37 points in the loss against Southern Illinois which puts her at the top in the Horizon League for total points scored by a player in a single game this season.

Coach Bruce's squad was picked to finish tenth in the Horizon League Preseason Poll, just ahead of Robert Morris. The Jags will look to fight their way through the Horizon League in hopes of outdoing their preseason rank. They currently sit in 11th after three straight
losses to open league play. Meanwhile, Youngstown State is ranked 6th with a 2-1 conference record.

Youngstown State enters Saturday's game with a 7-6 overall record, including their most recent victory over Point Park with a score of 85-42. The Penguins' two conference victories were against Milwaukee (66-50) and Northern Kentucky (56-47). Senior Jewel Watkins leads Youngstown State in scoring with 13.5 points per game.

IU Indy leads the all-time series over Youngstown State, 14-11.

The Jags and Penguins will tip off at 2:00 PM on ESPN+.
