HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The IU Indianapolis men's basketball team captured a key road victory on Monday (Nov. 25) as the Jaguars outlasted Alabama A&M, 88-83 inside the AAMU Events Center. Graduate transfer Paul Zilinskas tallied a career-high 32 points to pace four Jaguars in double-digits and Jarvis Walker pumped in 13, including the dagger on the Jags' final offensive possession. The game featured 12 ties and 13 lead changes with the Jaguars seizing the final advantage of the day with 1:13 to play. 

Zilinskas scored 20 of his 32 in the second half while Walker tallied 12 of his 13 after intermission. 

The Jags trailed by as many as nine in the second half, but rallied back and took a 75-72 lead when Nathan Dudukovich stroked an open trey with 3:48 to play. Later, Zilinskas got free for an open wing three with 1:58 remaining to give the Jags an 80-78 lead. AAMU (4-4) tied the game at the free throw line, but Walker fired back with a pair of free throws with 1:13 to play. After Alabama A&M cut the lead in half by splitting a pair of freebies with 59.9 seconds to play, Zilinskas responded with a three-point play on a tough drive to his left with 40 seconds left. AAMU's Darius Ford responded with a tough finish with 32.9 seconds to play, but the host Bulldogs opted to play it out, rather than foul. 

Zilinskas dribbled out the bulk of the clock before a reversal found its way to Walker, who drained a three as the shot clock expired, effectively ending the game. 

Zilinskas hit 11-of-20 shots, including 5-of-10 from three, and all five of his free throw attempts. The Jags shot 55.2 percent after the break to finish the game at 42.1 percent after a sluggish first half. More importantly, the Jags connected on 12-of-28 (42.9 percent) from three and 28-of-32 (87.5 percent) at the foul line as the two teams combined on 49 fouls and 65 free throw attempts. Timaris Brown came off the bench with a key 11-point, eight rebound effort before fouling out and Sean Craig had 11 points and seven rebounds. 

Ford led AAMU with 20 points and AC Bryant tallied 17 points, including hitting 10-of-11 at the free throw line. Chad Moodie finished with 16 points and three blocked shots up front for the hosts. 

The first half was similarly a slugfest with the Jags shooting just 29 percent overall, but hitting 12-of-15 at the free throw line. The Jags built a 32-25 first half lead with 4:45 to play when Zilinskas rattled in a three off Craig's assist from the seat of his pants. However, AAMU closed the half on an 8-0 run to take a 33-32 halftime advantage. 

The Jaguars will return home to host Trinity Christian after the Thanksgiving holiday on Saturday, Nov. 30 at 2:00 p.m. inside the Jungle.
