INDIANANPOLIS - The IUPUI basketball team suffered an 80-63 setback at home to Robert Morris on Saturday (Jan. 20), despite a game-high 23 points from junior
Jlynn Counter. RMU connected on 16-of-32 (50 percent) from three-point range, paced by Josh Corbin's 20 points and five assists.
Six different RMU (8-12, 4-5 HL) hit at least one three as the Colonials outscored IUPUI 48-9 from long distance. The Jaguars did the brunt of their work inside the arc and at the foul line, outscoring the guests 30-22 in the paint and 16-8 at the free throw line.
RMU blew out to 9-3 lead, including a pair of threes, and kept the Jaguars from tallying their second field goal until more than seven minutes has passed. Stephaun Walker pushed RMU's lead out to double-digits at the 7:23 mark before halftime to kickoff a quick 7-1 run and the Colonials led by double-figures nearly the rest of the day.
Sophomore
Vincent Brady II had a nifty steal and assist on a Counter layup to cap a 6-0 run that saw IUPUI creep back to 45-36 with 14:33 remaining, but RMU fired back with a Corbin trey to regain momentum.

DJ Jackson closed with 11 points off the IUPUI bench and both Brady and
Bryce Monroe added 10 points apiece. Sophomore
Abdou Samb had a team-high five rebounds and two blocked shots while
Qwanzi Samuels had four points and three steals.
Justice Williams had 17 points for the victors and TJ Wainwright added 16 points, including three treys, off the RMU bench.
IUPUI finished at 44 percent overall and 3-of-13 (23.1 percent) from three. Jackson connected on both of his three-point attempts as part of his 11 points.
IUPUI will return to action on Thursday (Jan. 25) when the Jaguars host Youngstown State at 7:00 p.m. at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.
