INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI women's soccer team will take on Butler and Tennessee Tech in week three of the college soccer season, looking to bounce back after having a season opening three-game winning streak snapped on Sunday. The Jaguars opened the year with three straight shutout wins over Southern Indiana, Southern Illinois and at Bellarmine before falling to SIUE on Sunday.
The Jaguars will trek to Butler on Thursday (Aug. 31) before hosting Tennessee Tech on Sunday (Sept. 3). Thursday's game will be broadcast on FloSports.
The IUPUI (3-1) attack has been led by a pair of freshmen to start the season as both
Caroline Kelley and
Shannon Ott have tallied three goals each. Senior forward
Emma Antoine has a team-high three assists through four games. In goal, junior
Ashton Kudlo has a 0.62 goals against average and .846 save percentage in her four starts. She's yielded just two goals and has an unblemished 3-0 record with a shutout.
Sophomore defender
Kailyn Smith has played a team-high 324 minutes along the back line while freshmen
Emily Tobin and
Katie Hoog are second and third in minutes among the team's field players.
IUPUI enters Thursday's game looking to snap a seven-game skid against Butler, having not defeated the Bulldogs since a 3-1 home win 2010. The Jaguars are 1-1 all-time against Tennessee Tech, having won in Cookeville last year on Antoine's goal in the 81st minute.
