INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI men's soccer team will honor its senior class ahead of its final on-campus home game of the 2023 campaign on Saturday (Oct. 21) when the Jaguars host Green Bay at 3:00 p.m. at Carroll Stadium. Admission will be FREE of charge and the game will be streamed on ESPN+ as Jonathan Matthes (pxp) is on the call.
IUPUI will recognize six seniors -
Logan Finnegan,
Lukas Hackaa,
Kyle Healy,
Lucas Morefield,
Bryson Najarian and
Kenshiro Yamaguchi - at 2:30 on Saturday ahead of the 3:00 p.m. kickoff.
IUPUI (6-5-3, 4-1-1 HL) comes in on a two-game winning streak, having defeated Western Illinois and Northern Kentucky in their past two outings. Finnegan had a brace in the win over NKU and earned #HLMSOC Offensive Player of the Week honors while Hackaa played a role in all three scores, including tallying the game-winner. He later assisted on both of Finnegan's goals to pad the lead. In goal, Morefield earned his third shutout of the season, all of which have come in Horizon League play, upping his career total to 10 in the process.
Head coach
Sid van Druenen's team enters the weekend atop the league standings with 13 points and a 4-1-1 record. Green Bay is amidst a four-team logjam tied for fourth place with eight points at 2-2-2 in league play.
In league play, IUPUI has outscored foes by a 10-4 margin as Finnegan has scored a team-high four goals in his five games. The Jaguars' 0.67 goals against average in league play is tops in the league.
Hackaa and
Josemir Gomez each have three goals in league play and are tied for sixth in the league in tallies.
AGAINST GREEN BAY
IUPUI is 6-3-2 all-time against Green Bay and 3-1-1 in the five meetings in Indianapolis. IUPUI has won four straight against the Phoenix dating back to a tournament win in 2018. Last year, the Jaguars won a 1-0 decision in Indianapolis on a
Spencer Holland goal in the 66th minute.
