TRAFFIC ALERT: All four lanes of New York Street will be closed from University to White River Parkway for the Walk to End Alzheimer's at Carroll Stadium. The walk is expected to be concluded by approximately noon on Saturday, at which point traffic will be restored to normal patterns.
IUPUI is coming off a heart wrenching 2-2 draw with Wright State last weekend as the Jaguars conceded a game-tying penalty kick in the 86th minute. The Jaguars built a 2-1 halftime lead on goals from
Maya Lacognato and
Emma Antoine and dominated the run of play in the second half before a late whistle turned the game. Junior
Sam Slimak paced the IUPUI attack with five shot attempts and freshman midfielder
Emma Frey had three attempts.
Lacognato is tied for the Horizon League lead with six goals scored and 12 total points. Slimak ranks second in the league in total shot attempts at 31, averaging 2.82 attempts per contest. Both Antoine and Frey have three goals apiece while sophomore defender
Makenna Collins has a team-high three assists.
In goal, sophomore
Ashton Kudlo ranks third in the league with a 0.90 goals against average and has three shutouts to her credit.
QUOTABLE
"I was really proud of us today. Both the energy and intensity were there. We all went out there and worked for each other and every person contributed in all aspects. We got a little unlucky at the end, but the chances are coming and things are starting to click for us. We just have to keep it up and focus our attention on the next game," Lacognato said.
