INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI Athletics Department and head basketball coach
Matt Crenshaw announced the promotion of
Winston Yergler to the program's Director of Operations for the upcoming season. Yergler spent last season on the Jaguars' staff as Assistant Director of Operations.
"We're excited about moving Winston into this role," Crenshaw said. "He brings a ton of knowledge and excitement to the program. He's incredibly organized and knows how to work well with our staff and our student-athletes. He works hard and is going to do everything in his power to make us successful, on and off the court."
Prior to come to IUPUI before last season, Yergler spent two seasons on the Ball State staff as a Graduate Assistant and Special Assistant to the Head Coach. While at Ball State, Yergler worked closely with All Mid-American Conference (MAC) performers Tayler Persons and Trey Moses and also worked with a roster that boasted four 1,000 point scorers for the first-time in BSU history. He served as BSU's head scouting coordinator, focusing largely on defensive preparation over the course of the season. He also helped coordinate the coaching staff's travel schedules as they watched more than 600 high school and summer games across the country.
Over the course of his collegiate player development, Yergler has worked with nine different players who have amassed 1,000 points in their collegiate careers.
Yergler played collegiately for two seasons at Iowa Central Community College before completing his degree at Purdue, where he was a men's basketball manager. He earned his degree from Purdue in Selling & Sales Management before earning his Master's in Sports Administration from Ball State.
