MUNCIE, Ind. – The IUPUI women's basketball team will travel to Muncie to face in-state rival, Ball State for a 6:30 PM tipoff tomorrow, Thursday, December 8. The Jags are coming off their first Horizon League win of the season against Milwaukee on Monday night, 64-55.
In her first game back with the Jags on Monday,
Jazmyn Turner led with 18 points. Turner, a transfer from Ball State has been solid in the post with 12.9 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.
Destiny Perkins posted a career-high 28 points against Green Bay on Saturday, averaging 21.5 points across the first two League games for the Jags. Perkins runs the point for IUPUI, averaging 13.4 points and tops the Horizon League with 3.7 assists per game.
Although the Jags recorded their lowest three-point percentage of the season on Monday, IUPUI still holds a league-best 35.0 percent from long range, averaging 8.8 threes per game. Six players have hit at least seven three-pointers this year with
Ali Berg pacing the way with 13 made three-pointers, going 13-for-32 (40.6 percent) from deep. Perkins has also sunk 13 threes, shooting 32.5 percent from behind the arc.
Ball State enters the game on a four-game win streak, going undefeated at home with a 6-2 overall record. The Cardinals defeated Saint Louis on Monday night, 85-51, shooting over 50 percent from the floor.
