EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. - The IUPUI men's soccer team was shutout on the road to close out the preseason slate on Saturday (Aug. 21), falling at SIUE by a 2-0 score. The host Cougars deposited goals in each half on way to the two-goal win.
SIUE's Pau Palacin netted the game-winner in the 34th minute and got late insurance when Alex Segura tallied in the 83rd minute. The two sides opted to play an additional 30 minutes following 90 minutes of regulation with neither team scoring in the bonus time.
SIUE closed with a 19-6 shot advantage, testing goalkeepers

Lucas Morefield throughout.
No official stats were kept for Saturday's exhibition match.
IUPUI's regular season will officially start on Thursday, Aug. 26 when the Jags trek to Bowling Green for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
