ROCHESTER, Mich. – IUPUI battled but came up a point short in a 4-3 loss to Oakland on Sunday (March 21). IUPUI picked up a doubles point in two singles points in the loss.
 
In doubles play, IUPUI began with a point in the No. 3 match as Oakland did not have a sixth player. The Jags then got a 6-3 win from Meghan Bernard and Samantha Hayward to clinch the point and put the Jags up 1-0.
 
The Jags were up 2-0 after the default win at No. 6. Bernard got a win 7-5, 7-6(7-4) but Oakland would win the remaining four singles matches. Two of the singles matches went to three sets with Christina Stankovic falling 5-7, 6-1, 7-5 at No. 2 and Sarah Lounsbury losing 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3.
 
UP NEXT
IUPUI will continue Horizon League play with two matches against UIC next weekend. The Jags will play the Flames on Saturday (March 27) and Sunday (March 28.
