JAGS HIT THE ROAD TO FACE #15 IOWA

IUPUI takes on the Hawkeyes on BTN+ on Tuesday (Dec. 21)

IOWA CITY – After having their fourth game canceled due to Covid-19 issues within the opponent's program, the IUPUI women's basketball team travels to Iowa City to face No. 15 Iowa on Tuesday (Dec. 21) at 3:00 p.m. The game marks only the third time the Jags face the Hawkeyes, with the last matchup on Dec. 8, 2018, when IUPUI fell 72-58.
 
Head coach Austin Parkinson's team enters the game after having a fourth game canceled due to Covid-19 issues on Saturday (Dec. 18). Saturday's game vs. Eastern Michigan was cancelled and has been considered a no-contest.
 
The Jags last played on Dec. 8 when the team's comeback fell short to in-state foe, Ball State, 73-67. Graduate student Macee Williams led the Jaguars with 19 points, seven rebounds and one steal. Destiny Perkins followed with four rebounds, four assists and a season-high 16 points, all coming from behind the arc. Junior Natalie Andersen came off the bench and added a season-high 15 points and led the team in rebounds with eight.
 
Parkinson's squad was recently pegged No. 17 in the Mid-Major Top 25.
 
The Jaguars will be tested on Tuesday as they face Iowa who enters the game ranked No. 15 in the Associated Press poll and No. 15 in the USA Today/Coaches poll. The Hawkeyes are 6-2 overall and 1-0 in the Big Ten and enter the game after defeating Central Florida, 69-61. Iowa leads the country in free-throw percentage with 84% and sits at 12th in the country in assists per game with 18.9 and three-point percentage with 38.5%.
 
Sophomore Caitlin Clark leads the Hawkeyes averaging 22.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. Clark is the reigning Big Ten Freshman of the Year and was named The Athletic, WBCA, and USBWA Tamika Catchings Co-Freshman of the Year after her first season with Iowa. Senior Monika Czinano averages 17.3 points and 5.4 rebounds per game while junior McKenna Warnock adds 13.0 points and 7.1 rebounds per game.
 
Tuesday's game will be aired on the Big Ten Network+ with tip off at 3 p.m.
