JAGUARS TO HOST MILWAUKEE AT CARROLL STADIUM ON SATURDAY

IUPUI (2-5-1, 1-3 HL) to take on Panthers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday

10/1/2021 1:15:00 PM

INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI men's soccer team is hoping the home turf can cure what ails them as the Jaguars will host Milwaukee (3-4-1, 2-1-1 HL) at the on-campus Michael A. Carroll Stadium at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday (Oct. 2). Head coach Brian Barnett's team comes in on a four-game skid after having opened Horizon League play with a 1-0 win over Wright State.

The Jaguars squandered a road opportunity earlier this week as they tallied first on the road at Cleveland State, only to yield three goals in a 13-minute stretch early in the second half. Junior midfielder Chris Workman scored off a Tylin Broaders assist just after halftime to give IUPUI the lead. However, the Vikings tallied in the 54th, 63rd and 67th minutes. Lucas Morefield registered six saves in goal and offensively, IUPUI outshot the Vikings in the first half and had the better run of play, resulting in the game's first goal.

Broaders leads the Jaguars with two assists and Workman, Rayan Choukri, Logan Finnegan and Cameron Haegele account for the team's four goals. Six Jags have started all eight games this year, including the defensive backfield of Gianni Catenacci, Ethan Diedel, Corey Goede and Tommy Patacca. That quartet also represents the team's top four field players in terms of minutes played.
