INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI Athletics Department and head basketball coach Byron Rimm II announced the signing of Bobby Harvey to a national letter of intent on Tuesday (June 16). Harvey, a 6-foot-3 guard, comes to IUPUI from Wabash Valley College and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining.

"Bobby is going to bring a variety of things to our program, most notably his ability to make shots and toughness," Rimm said. "He's a three-point threat, but he's capable of scoring in midrange and getting to the rim. More than anything, I like that he comes from winning programs and just plays with a winning attitude.

"We really want to continue to add versatile guys to the roster so we can mix-and-match how we want to play."

Harvey averaged 11.9 points per game at Wabash Valley this past season while shooting 36 percent from three-point range and drilling a team-high 71 treys. He helped Wabash Valley to a 21-11 record and 13-5 mark in Great Rivers Athletic Conference play. He hit for double-figures 18 times this past season, including a season-high 23 points (8-11 FG, 7-10 3's), six rebounds and seven assists against Lincoln Land on Nov. 23.

Harvey played his freshman season at Maryville University where he averaged 6.1 points and 1.8 rebounds per game on his way to being voted to the GLVC All-Freshman Team. He scored a season-high 20 points against No. 1 Bellarmine that season, including hitting six treys in that contest.

Harvey was one of the top high school players in the Chicagoland area as a senior, earning South Suburban Conference Player of the Year honors after averaging 19.5 points, six rebounds and three assists per game. He was voted Class 3 third team IBCA All-State and AP honorable mention all-state. He was chosen to the prestigious Chicagdo Heights All-Tournament Team and was ranked among the top 25 seniors in the state by Illinois Prep Hoops.

He becomes IUPUI's second addition for next season, joining freshman forward Sadaidriene "DayDay" Hall from Sulphur Springs, Texas.
