INDIANAPOLIS - Although IUPUI's 2020 Commencement has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more than 40 student-athletes would have been eligible to walk by earning their degrees, either in December or May. In addition, four others are on pace to complete their degree requirements this summer and be recognized as graduates.
Sixteen of the department's 18 sports are represented with the most recent graduating class and the group graduated from nine different IUPUI schools, spanning more than 20 different majors.
IUPUI Athletics has reeled off 22 straight semesters with a departmental grade point average of 3.0 or better after recording a 3.42 mark in the fall. Eighty percent of IUPUI student-athletes earned a 3.0 GPA or better with 40 posting a perfect 4.0 mark.
In addition to the 44 student-athletes, four members of the IUPUI Cheerleading team are expected to graduate as well as
Haley Barnett,
Mariah Dragonette,
Sydney Elphick and
Jazmyne Whitlow have all completed their academic requirements.
