INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI men's tennis picked up its first home win of the season with a 5-2 victory over Austin Peay on Saturday (Feb. 29). The Jags earned four of the first five points in the match to secure the win.

IUPUI (3-10) picked up the first point of the match with a dramatic doubles competition. After Ethan Mardanus-Budiono and Eric Hollingsworth teamed for a 6-2 win at No. 3, Austin Peay (4-7) picked up a 6-4 win at No. 2 to tie the doubles play. In the No. 1 match Alex Jochim and Sean Bailey went to a tie break and the Jaguar duo teamed for a 7-2 tie break win to give the Jags the point.

In singles play, Bailey picked up the first point for IUPUI with a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 2. Austin Peay earned the next singles point but IUPUI earned their third point of the match with Jochim winning 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1. The Jags picked up the match win as Nicholas Moody won the No. 6 match 6-3, 6-4.

IUPUI's other point came from Mardanus-Budiono who earned a three set win, 6-2, 3-6, 10-8.
