JAGS CLOSE REGULAR SEASON AT HOME AGAINST UIC ON FRIDAY (FEB. 28)

IUPUI will play their final game of the regular season at home against UIC on Senior Night.

INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI women's basketball will play their final regular season game when the Jags take on UIC on Friday (Feb. 23). The game against the Flames will start at 7 p.m. in the Jungle. The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Scott Agness on the call.

Before the contest against the Flames, IUPUI will honor seniors Holly Hoopingarner and Anaiah Williams.

IUPUI (20-7, 14-3 Horizon) already clinched the Horizon League regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the Horizon League Women's Basketball Championship on Monday, March 9. Now IUPUI will look to earn a school-record 15th conference win of the season as well as clinching an 11-1 record on their home court, the best record in the Jungle in IUPUI's Division I history (since 1998).

IUPUI now looks to take on a UIC team that has lost seven-straight games and sits at 2-15 in Horizon League play and 3-25 overall. The Jaguars have never lost to the Flames in six games and each of the last five games have been decided by at least 25 points.

FIRST MEETING AGAINST UIC (88-49 WIN)
  • The Jags beat down UIC 88-49 behind 17 from Natalie Andersen and four other Jags who finished in double-figures.
  • IUPUI jumped out to a 33-10 lead after one quarter on the heels of a 20-2 run.
  • Macee Williams kept her double-digit point streak alive (now at 13) with 10 points, all in the first five minutes of the game.
LAST TIME OUT (58-61 LOSS VS MILWAUKEE)
  • The Jags fell to Green Bay by three with two shots to tie the game being blocked with under 10 seconds.
  • Macee Williams finished with a 17-point, 11-rebound double-double, her 13th of the season.
  • Destiny Perkins had a season-high 15 points, hitting three threes.
  • IUPUI is now 0-3 all-time against Green Bay in Indianapolis.
 
HOLLY'S FINAL HOME GAME
  • The game against UIC will be the final regular season home game for senior point guard Holly Hoopingarner.
  • With three points, Hoopingarner will eclipse the 1,000 career point mark, the 27th Jaguar to reach the mark and the second this season after Macee Williams did it against St. John's.
  • Hoopingarner reached 300 career rebounds against Green Bay and is just two assists shy of 300 career assists.
 THE OFFENSE HAS COOLED
  • IUPUI has not scored more than 62 points in their last four games (2-2). Before that IUPIU had scored at least 72 points in 12 of 14 games. This is the longest streak of the season scoring under 63 points.
  • The offense is averaging just 41.3% shooting during the four-game stretch. The Jags are shooting 45.8% for the season.
  • IUPUI has really struggled in the second half, averaging 13 points in the 3rd and 11 points in the 4th quarters.
  • The result has been a lot of clise games. All four games have been decided by seven points or less and IUPUI is outscoring their opponents by an average of 1.2 points per game (averaging +14.4 ppg for the season).
MACEE CLIMBING THE CHARTS
  • Macee Williams became the 26th player in IUPUI history to score 1,000-career points in a Jaguar uniform with her first basket against St. John's on Nov. 30. Williams is now climbing that charts for IUPUI.
