CHICAGO – IUPUI women's swimming returns from break with two meets over the weekend at UIC. In both meets IUPUI will take on the host UIC Flames and the Cleveland State Vikings. Both meets will be scored as individual dual meets between the teams.
The Jags' first meet of the weekend will be on Friday (Jan. 10) and will begin at 6 p.m. On Saturday (Jan. 11) the three teams will take to the pool beginning at 12 p.m.
"We are coming off of a great training camp where we have done some amazing things and the team is really excited to get back to racing," said head coach Damion Dennis. "We open up the 2020 year with two great conference teams and this will be a big challenge for us. We have a few Jags that will be racing for the first time since October and they have been waiting for this opportunity."
WHO TO WATCH
- Maggie Hatfield has been the top sprinter for the Jags, holding the top times this season in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle.
- Lauren Thompson had a strong fall season as the freshman clocked the top times in the 50, 100 and 200 backstroke, as well as the 100 butterfly.
- Maureen Lingle owns three top times this season, holding the fastest time for the team in 500 free, 200 butterfly and the 400 IM.
- The breaststroke has belonged to Aubrey Wing with the junior holding the top time in both the 100 and 200.
- Senior Eline Van den Bossche holds the team's fastest 200 IM.
