WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – IUPUI men's tennis' season came to a close at the hands of No. 1 seed Cleveland State in the semifinals of the Horizon League Men's Tennis Championship on Saturday (April 27). The Jags were beaten 4-0 by the top team in the league.

The first two doubles matches were decided by equal scores of 6-3, with each team earning one match. Cleveland State took the first match at No. 2 over Bradley Luetschwager and Kyle Whittaker but Sean Bailey and Ethan Mardanus-Budiono were able to knot the doubles competition with a win at No. 3. The doubles point came down to the No. 1 match but Alex Jochim and Colton Morehart were beaten 6-4 in the No. 1 match to give the Vikings the point.

In singles play, the Jags fell behind early with Morehart losing 7-5, 6-3 in the No. 3 match. Sean Bailey was beaten 6-4, 6-3 in the No. 2 match, moving Cleveland State one win away from the victory. The deciding match came in the No. 6 contest as Luetschwager was defeated 6-4, 7-5.

Though the Jags did not make it to the Horizon League Finals, IUPUI had one of its most successful seasons in program history. IUPUI finished with 14 wins on the season, the most since 16 wins in 2002-03.
