INDIANAPOLIS - IUPUI men's tennis took home its third league win of the season with a 5-2 win over Green Bay on Sunday (April 14).
With the win against the Phoenix, and a loss by Wright State, IUPUI guaranteed a spot in the Horizon League Tournament that will be played April 26-28.
IUPUI fell behind early as Green Bay took home the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 1 and 7-5 win at No. 3.
Eric Hollingsworth remained undefeated in Horizon League play with a win at No. 5, 6-3, 6-2 to give the Jags their first point.
Ethan Mardanus-Budiono put the Jags in front, earning the second point of the match by taking his No. 4 match 7-5, 6-0. A 6-4, 6-4 win by
Colton Morehart in the No. 3 match put the Jags a point away from taking the match.
Bradley Luetschwager closed out the match as IUPUI won four-straight singles matches, as Luetschwager won the No. 6 match 6-2, 7-6.
With the match decided,
Alex Jochim won the Jags fifth point of the day with a three set win at No. 1 (6-7, 7-6, 10-5).
The win against the Phoenix was the 13th win of the season for IUPUI, the most since a 16-win campaign in 2002-03.
