JAGS PLAY HOST TO SOUTHERN ILLINOIS ON TUESDAY

IUPUI will take on the Salukis on Tuesday (Nov. 12), looking to avenge an overtime loss last season.

INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI women's basketball remains at home for a matchup with Southern Illinois on Tuesday night (Nov. 12). The Jags will look to start 2-0 on the year for the third-straight season after beating Ball State in the season opener.

The game between the Jaguars and the Salukis will tip at 7 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+ with Andrew Kappes on the play-by-play call.

LAST TIME OUT
  • In the first game of the season, IUPUI took down in-state foe Ball State 65-48. The Jags earned their first ever win against the Cardinals with a stifling defense and strong performance from transfer Rachel McLimore, playing her first game in an IUPUI jersey.
  • McLimore led the Jags with 18 points on 6-for-11 shooting, going 2-for-3 from three and hitting all four of her free throws.
  • Macee Williams scored 15 points (all in the second half) and pulled down 11 rebounds. Williams was 7-for-9 from the free throw line and grabbed five of her 11 boards on the offensive end of the court.
  • Sydney Roule was the third Jaguar to score in double figures with ten points, hitting two threes and going 4-for-4 from the free throw line.
  • The Jags were an impressive 20-of-25 from the charity stripe.
  • IUPUI forced 26 turnovers, picking up 16 steals, led by four by Holly Hoopingarner.
  • IUPUI outrebounded Ball State 38-28. Morgan Allen was second on the team with nine rebounds.
SCOUTING SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
  • Southern Illinois is 1-0 on the season, beating SIU Edwardsville on the road 103-67 to start the season.
  • The Salukis finished with five players in double-figures, led by 28 points from Makenzie Silvey. Silvey was 11-for-18 from the field and 6-for-9 from deep.
  • SIU went 20-for-23 from the free throw line and 11-for-21 from behind the arc.
  • Abby Brockmeyer was 5-for-6 from the field and 6-for-6 from the free throw line for 16 points and pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.
LAST MEETING WITH THE SALUKIS
  • IUPUI lost the last meeting with Southern Illinois, dropping an overtime game in Carbondale, Ill., 78-73.
  • Williams led the Jags with 20 points and 10 rebounds, going 9-for-14 from the field.
  • Holly Hoopingarner was second on the team with 14 points and dished out a game-high six assists.
  • The Jags committed 25 turnovers to just 16 for Southern Illinois. The Salukis outscored IUPUI on points off turnovers 30-8.
  • Brockmeyer led SIU with 25 points and 10 rebounds, going 11-for-17 from the field and 3-for-6 from the line.
