CARMEL, Ind. -
Roman Jennings paced the IUPUI cross country team's four individual entries at Friday's Butler Cross Country Invitational, held at Northview Church. Jennings finished the 8K race in a season-best time of 26:22.2 to place 26th of 44 runners overall, topping IUPUI's entries.
Head coach
Chuck Koeppen gave a small group of runners one final chance to compete while his top group continued to prepare for next weekend's Horizon League Championships, to be held in Highland Heights, Ky.
Dakota Merkel clocked a season-best time of 27:33.5 and
Jake McCullough crossed at 28:15.3.
Brandon Will rounded out the day's entries in a time of 31:28.0.
Indiana's Keelan Grant won the race in a time of 24:50.2, winning by just more than a second.
Marquette technically won the team scoring with 23 points while host Butler was second with 38 points. No other teams had at least five entries to factor in the team scoring.
