INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI women's basketball team will Roar Against Cancer in its matchup against Cleveland State Saturday night (Feb. 10).
The Jags will honor cancer survivors during the game and those who have survived cancer or are currently battling cancer can receive complimentary admission.
The Jags will look to rebound after a tough loss to Youngstown State on Thursday (Feb. 8).
Macee Williams led IUPUI with 18 points and 10 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the season.
Tamya Sims added 17 points and
Danielle Lawrence finished with 16. Lawrence had a look at the tying three but bounced off the rim.
The Jags will look to avoid losing two games in a row for the first time this season as they host a Cleveland State team that has won four in a row, including three-straight on the road. The Vikings took care of UIC 64-42 on Thursday as Ashanti Abshaw scored 19 points and Khayla Livingston added 17, hitting five threes.
IUPUI took the first meeting between the two teams in Cleveland by a score of 77-64. The Jags had four players in double-figures, led by Lawrence who scored 22. IUPUI did a good job getting the Vikings in foul trouble as the Jags went to the free throw line a season-high 29 times.
