SWIMMING AND DIVING DOWNS MILWAUKEE

IUPUI continued its winning ways taking on a Horizon League foe for the first time this season.

INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI's first meet against a Horizon League foe turned out highly successful with the Jags winning 28 of 32 events against Milwaukee on Friday afternoon (Oct. 26).
The men's team won 221-79 and the women won 199-101.

The Jags swept all four relays with the women's team of Mallory Buha, Tori Kroon, Maggie Hatfield and Andrea Hanas winning the 200 medley relay in 1:46.85, and the squad of Josh Barajas, Will Grintjes, Cameron Green and Jackson Sandala took the men's event in 1:33.06.

In the 400 yard freestyle relay on the women's side, Kroon, Buha, Samantha Roll and Hanas won in 3:31.92. Sandala, Ben Levart, Garrett Roberts and Barajas grabbed the win with a time of 3:06.97.
Olivia Treski cruised to a win in the 1000 free, winning by more than six seconds with a time of 10:34.37. Ben Levart swept the distance, winning the 1000 free in 9:37.58 and the 500 free in 4:40.36. Levart's win in the 1000 was by almost nine seconds.

IUPUI continued their success in the 200 free with Meagan Ronci winning the women's event (1:55.44) and Sandala taking the men's race (1:41.35). In the short freestyle races, Kroon won the women's 50 in 23.96 and Hanas won the women's 100 in 53.18. The men also swept the 50 and 100 with wins by Barajas (21.25) and Sandala (46.28).

In the backstroke events, Buha took the women's 100 in 57.40 and Riley Lohse won the men's 100 in 51.82. Nick Hanas won the men's 200 back in 1:51.63.

The Jags owned the breaststroke with Aubrey Wing and Grintjes winning both the 100 and 200 events. In the women's events, Wing won the 100 in 1:05.86 and the 200 in 2:23.15. Grintjes continued his success in the breaststroke with a time of 57.69 in the 100 and 2:07.31 in the 200.

Buha took the women's 100 butterfly with a time of 57.05 and Carmen Escalante Ruiz won the women's 200 fly with a time of 2:07.26. Adam Wait grabbed a win in the men's 200 fly touching the wall in 1:53.93.

The men's diving team took both events with Patrick Tener winning the men's 1-meter with a score of 319.43 and Krisztian Somhegyi the 3-meter with 364.65 points. Rylee Dahlman won the women's 3-meter competition with a score of 260.85.

IUPUI's next time in the pool will be when the Jags host the House of Champions from Nov. 16 to Nov. 18.
