INDIANAPOLIS - Junior Camron Justice scored a game-high 18 points and dished out three assists in leading his Red squad to a 32-24 victory in annual Red-Black Scrimmage. Justice hit 4-of-6 from deep and also grabbed five boards in a game that consisted of two eight-minute halves. Junior Marcus Burk scored 10 points on 3-of-9 shooting for the Black squad in the loss.

Ahmed Ismail drilled a trey to give Black an early 3-0 lead but Red scored the next six points, five coming from Justice, and never trailed from there. Black crept within two with 4:41 to play on a Burk trey, but Red answered with a Jamil Jackson trey and Jack Hansen deuce to extend out to a 25-18 lead. Black got no closer than four the remainder of the night.

Jackson and Evan Hall had five each for Red while Grant Weatherford had four points, three boards and two assists for Black.

The night was already a winning one for the men's squad as they outshot the women's team in the annual head-to-head three-point shootout. The men's squad built an early 11-6 lead after the 7-foot-1 Ismail made 11-of-15 attempts and Justice followed by hitting 11-of-15 to make it 22-15 in the men's favor. Burk followed by making 10-of-15, making it 32-21 heading into the final round. Sydney Roule made nine in the women's final round, making Hansen's final round inconsequential. The men's team finished with a 36-30 advantage.

Head coach Jason Gardner's team will take on Central State in exhibition play on Monday night (Oct. 29) at 7:00 p.m. at Indiana Farmers Coliseum. That game will be broadcast on ESPN+ as Greg Rakestraw (pxp) and Hall of Famer Bob Lovell (analyst) call the action. The IUPUI coaching staff will adorn purple ribbons on Monday as part of a Domestic Violence Awareness initiative.
