INDIANAPOLIS – IUPUI swimming and diving takes to the pool for two meets over the weekend. On Friday (Oct. 19), the Jags will take on Cincinnati. On Saturday (Oct. 20) both the men and women will take on Western Illinois and Olivet Nazarene, while the women will also face off against Butler.
The meet against Cincinnati will begin at 5 p.m. The Jags will take on Western Illinois, Olivet Nazarene and Butler at 2 p.m.
IUPUI began its season against the University of Indianapolis and the women picked up a win against the Greyhounds, 142-101. The men lost to UIndy 105-138 but overall the Jags won 11 individual events.
Against the University of Indianapolis,
Krisztian Somhegyi took home both men's diving events winning the 3-meter with 353.48 points and the 1-meter with a score of 314.48 points. The Jags also won both diving events on the women's side with
Rylee Dahlman winning the 1-meter (252.38) and
Carolyn Dietz the 3-meter (241.20).
IUPUI's women also took home two relay wins, beginning the night with a win in the 400 yard medley relay in a time of 3:54.03. The Jags also won the 200 yard freestyle relay in a time of 1:36.75 to end the competition.
Both meets will be free to the public at the IUPUI Natatorium.
