INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI men's swimming team closed its dual meet season with a win over Wabash College, 194-100 on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 20).
IUPUI took the first three events of the meet with a win in the 200-yard medley relay,
David Sweezer won the 1,000-yard freestyle in a time of 9:43.40 and
John Ragsdell won the men's 200-yard freestyle (1:43.89), followed by teammates Josh Barajas (1:44.09) and
Nick Boryk (1:46.08).
Later in the meet,
Jonathan Stoller picked up a win in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 58.94.
Ben Levart took a break from freestyle distance to win the men's 200-yard butterfly in a time of 1:55.01. The Jags also swept the 200-yard butterfly with
Dillon Stangeland (1:56.34) and
Zack Andrews 1:58.33 rounding out the podium.
Senior
Trenton Wolfe had a strong meet picking up two wins. First Wolfe earned a win in the 50-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 21.42. Wolfe then grabbed a win in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 47.06.
Stoller earned his second win of the night in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:08.82. Josh Barajas won the 500-yard freestyle in 4:43.26.
Jackson Sandala earned a win in the 100-yard butterfly, touching the wall in 51.28. Ragsdell finished the individual events with a win in the 200-yard IM, finishing in 1:55.82.
On the boards, IUPUI swept the men's events with
Mitch Mastey winning the event with 313.90 points.
Patrick Tener finished second in the event (289.30) and
Austin Young took third (275.30). The same trio finished in the same positions for the men's 1-meter diving with Mastey scoring 292.85.
The Jags will be off until Feb. 10, when they will compete at the Ohio State Invitational.
