CLEVELAND, Ohio – IUPUI's swimming and diving teams competed in the first of two days of meets at Cleveland State with the men's team picking up a win against UIC on Friday (Jan. 12).

In a set of dual meets between Cleveland State and UIC, the men came away with the only victory of the night beating UIC 187-126. The men fell to host Cleveland State 162-151 and the women fell to both Cleveland State (190-110) and UIC (175-122).

Most of the success on the night for the Jags came from the diving boards as #
Krisztian Somhegyi# swept the 1-meter and 3-meter competitions with 294.20 points and 359.70 points, respectively. #
Mitch Mastey# took second in the 3-meter while #
Patrick Tener# took second in the 1-meter.

For the women, #
Rylee Dahlman# finished first in the 1-meter with a score of 250.95 followed by teammate #
Carolyn Dietz#. Dahlman finished second in the women's 3-meter with #
Blaire Wills# taking third and Dietz finished fourth.

In the pool, #
Mark Auger# won the men's 200-yard butterfly in a time of 1:52.30, #
Jackson Sandala# won the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 46.49, #
Jonathan Stoller# touched the wall in 2:06.67 to win the 200-yard breaststroke and #
Ben Levart# picked up the win in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 4:37.95.

On the women's side, #
Carmen Escalante Ruiz# had a strong night taking home second in both the 100-yard and 200-yard butterfly events. #
Tori Kroon# finished second in the women's 50-yard freestyle, #
Maggie Hatfield# was second in the women's 200-yard freestyle and #
Allison Walker# also finished second in the 1000-yard freestyle.
