DETROIT - The IUPUI men's soccer team continued to find the road unkind as the Jaguars fell in overtime at Detroit on Saturday (Oct. 7), 2-1. UDM's Max Becker delivered the winner on a quick restart in the 98th minute, keeping the Jags winless on the season. Detroit moved to 6-4-2 and 3-2 in Horizon League play.

IUPUI (0-10, 0-5 Horizon) fell into a hole late in the first half as the hosts were seemingly banging on the door from the opening kickoff. Senior Harold Agyeman-Prempeh had a save early in the match, clearing a Tyler Hughes shot off the back line in the game's 11th minute. Tyler Moorman finally broke through in the 38th minute, heading home Adam Clauss' corner service for his eighth score of the season. Detroit outshot the Jaguars 10-2 in the opening half and had a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks.

IUPUI had just missed breaking the scoreless tie a few minutes earlier when junior back Nick Anderson had a shot hit the woodwork in the 31st minute.

The second half had a decidedly different flavor as IUPUI pulled even shortly after halftime. Sophomore Alan Aguilar played service from the right side to Uriel Macias, who headed home his second goal in as many games past UDM keeper Tyler Moorman.

The game stayed tied through regulation, despite some near misses. UDM's Dalton Amez hit the post in the 64th minute and Aguilar had some positive builds in the 56th and 62nd minutes, but was unable to get shots on frame.

In overtime, UDM opened as the aggressor, putting pressure on redshirt freshman keeper Michael Buck from the outset. Moorman hit the crossbar in the 96th minute, just ahead of Becker's game-winner. Becker caught the Jaguars slow to organize after the Titans had drawn a foul deep in IUPUI territory. The score was his first of the season.

"It was a tough loss, but every single player of ours that stepped on the field played hard, which deserves a huge amount of respect," Aguilar said. "We lost today but we'll bounce back."

Buck finished with four saves in his return to the starting lineup while Beckwell closed with one save for the Titans. Aguilar and Macias led the Jaguars with two shots each.

IUPUI will return home on Sunday, Oct. 15 to host Belmont at 1:00 p.m. at the on-campus Michael A. Carroll Stadium. That match will be broadcast on ESPN3 and adult tickets are just $5 at the gate.
