DETROIT - IUPUI men's and women's basketball coaches Jason Gardner and Austin Parkinson will participate in the 2017-18 Horizon League Basketball Media Day on Friday (Oct. 6) at the newly opened Little Caesars Arena in Detroit from 12-4 p.m..

All 20 of the league's men's and women's head basketball coaches will converge on the Motor City and be made available to members of the media throughout the day to discuss the 2017-18 season.

Gardner's squad has increased the program's total number of victories in each of his three seasons at the helm of the program. The Jaguars are coming off a 14-win campaign and return a nucleus of seniors Ron Patterson, Aaron Brennan and Evan Hall from last year's squad. The Jaguars' crop of newcomers is keyed by Toledo-transfer Nick Rogers and Loyola-transfer Maurice Kirby.

Parkinson's program is coming off a fourth WNIT berth in five years and a 24-win season a year ago. The Jags are keyed by senior guard Danielle Lawrence and junior sharpshooter Sydney Hall. The incoming class is highlighted by Bradley-transfer Tamya Sims and true freshman Macee Williams.

In addition to the 20 coaches, Tom Wilson (President and CEO of Olympia Entertainment) and Horizon League Commissioner Jon LeCrone will be hosting a 1:00 p.m. press conference at Little Caesars Arena.
