YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Heading east to face a team the Jags hosted last season, the IUPUI women's swimming and diving team will make the trek to Youngstown, Ohio Saturday (Jan. 14) to face the Youngstown Penguins at 1 p.m. EST. IUPUI topped Youngstown 168-129 last season.
The Jags are coming off a split in their recent dual-meet with Xavier and Ball State, topping the Musketeers 136-101 before dropping to the Cardinals.
Olivia Treski was named the Summit League Swimmer of the Week for the third time this season after taking first-place in three events. She paddled her way to the top time in the 200, 500 and 1000 Free events. Currently, Treski has the third-fastest times in the Summit League for the 500, 1000 and 1650 Free.
Melissa Berger has twice been named the Summit League Female Diver of the Week, and recently qualified for the 2017 NCAA Zone Championships with her performance in the one-meter springboard at the Miami Diving Invitational (Dec. 1-3).
The Penguins carry a 2-2 mark in dual-meet action this season and will host Saint Francis (Pa.) Friday (Jan. 13) before the Saturday bout with the Jags. The Penguins landed three runner-up performances at the Magnus Cup Invitational hosted by Cleveland State in November, finishing with the silver spot in the women's 200 and 500 Free, as well as both diving events. The team finished fifth in the field of 14.
The Jags have just three dual-meets remaining before the start of the Summit League Swimming and Diving Championships (Feb. 15-18), set to be hosted at the Natatorium in Indianapolis.
