JAGS TO FACE ILLINOIS STATE ON SUNDAY ON ESPN3

Jags come in on two-game winning streak

Live Stats I Live Video

NORMAL, Ill. - The IUPUI women's soccer team will cap its non-conference slate on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 25) at Illinois State in a match that will be broadcast on ESPN3. Kickoff is slated for 2:00 p.m. Eastern (1:00 p.m. Central) at ISU's Adelaide Street Field.

IUPUI comes in at 6-3-1 overall and on a two-game winning streak after defeating Evansville and Xavier last weekend. Illinois State is 5-5-1 on the year, but undefeated in its last four outings with three wins and a draw.

LAST TIME OUT
IUPUI upended Xavier 2-1 at Carroll Stadium on Sunday, Sept. 18 thanks to goals from seniors Sierra Bryant and Catherine Raster. The win was the first-ever for the Jaguars over Xavier.
Xavier struck first with a goal in the ninth minute, but IUPUI countered when Maryna Clark setup Bryant's third score of the year in the 22nd minute. In the 49th minute, Raster tallied her third game-winner of the season, thanks to assists from Tori Minnich and Hayley Shelton. Shelton played a ball out wide to Minnich, who then rolled a pass to Raster on the right side. Raster beat a defender and slotted a shot past the XU goalie for her fifth score of the season.
Freshman Sophia Lipka improved to 3-0 on the season in goal by making a pair of saves.

QUOTABLE
" "I thought we were really resilient today. We went down a goal, but I was proud of the ladies for not hanging their heads, but instead, looking to find an answer and get even before halftime. Getting that goal was key for us and we got a lot of confidence from there. After that, I thought we did a pretty good job of taking the game to them and making them react and adjust to what we were doing out there," said Head Coach Chris Johnson following the Xavier win.
