INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI women's soccer team will continue to start the season with four straight matches against in-state foes when the Jags host Marian on Friday (Aug. 26) at 7:00 p.m. before trekking to Indiana State on Sunday (Aug. 28).

Adult tickets are just $5 on Friday night and parking is FREE of charge in the lots referenced on this page.

On the field, IUPUI comes in at 1-1 after opening the season with a 2-0 victory over Valparaiso before falling at Ball State, 4-1. Senior Tori Minnich leads the team with two goals while junior Krissy Kirkhoff has the team's other tally. Minnich recently became the sixth player in school history to move past 20 career goals, scoring a second half tally in the loss to Ball State on Sunday.

Catherine Raster, Hayley Shelton and Maryna Clark have the Jaguars' three assists this season. In goal, junior goalie Catherine Schmidt has posted a 2.00 goals against average and 14 saves in her two starts.

Head Coach Chris Johnson is looking for a redemptive weekend after a disappointing result in Muncie last Sunday.

"We have not done well handling success," Johnson said. "We can't come out and just step on the field and expect good things to happen for us. We've got to seize the opportunities and take things in order to be successful. We're more than capable of doing it, but it has to happen on the field."

IUPUI won at Marian a season ago, 4-1, thanks to goals from Kirkhoff, Becca Spitalniak, Minnich and Raster. Spitalniak tallied the game-winner in the 35th minute off assists from Jessica Flores and Kirkhoff. A week later, the Jags defeated Indiana State, 2-1 in Terre Haute, thanks to goals from Kirkhoff and Minnich. Shelton setup Minnich's game-winner in the 18th minute.
