INDIANAPOLIS - The IUPUI Athletics Department is offering a small token of thanks to public safety professionals on Saturday (Feb. 7), allowing them and their immediate families to attend the men's basketball game against South Dakota State FREE of charge. Public safety professionals may come to Indiana Farmers Coliseum on Saturday and receive free tickets for themselves and immediate family by showing a valid employee ID.

Tip-off for Saturday's game is 1:00 p.m. inside Indiana Farmers Coliseum at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. Over the past two weeks, the IUPUI Athletics Department has hand delivered hundreds of tickets to IMPD Metropolitan Districts for distribution among the officers and their families.

"We see this as a unique opportunity to give back to our community and invite these folks out to see our facility and support our basketball team," Senior Associate Director of Athletics John Rasmussen said. "Our university prides itself on being an integral part of the Indianapolis community and we want to acknowledge and try to reward those individuals with this token of gratitude."

During the game there will be special promotions from The Flying Cupcake, Dick's Sporting Goods, Blaze Pizza and other corporate partners. Local dance team, the Greenfield Golden Girls, will also be performing during halftime of the game.
