INDIANAPOLIS – It's been more than a month since their last competition, but the IUPUI men's and women's swimming and diving teams return to action on Friday, Jan. 9, when they host Ball State and Xavier at the IUPUI Natatorium.
The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
The last time the Jags swam at their home facility was back at the end of November when the men's team finished second and the women's team won the House of Champions Invitational.
Since that point, a handful of individuals went to Greensboro, N.C., to compete at the U.S. Short Course Nationals. On the men's side
Lennart Kuester,
Tony Carroll,
Aaron Brysch and
Adam Ferguson competed, while
Jennifer Oleksiak Madeline Bradford and
Alexis Bullard represented the women's team.
Meanwhile, Lexi Laird had a unique opportunity to compete at the FINA World Swimming Championships in Doha, Qatar, where she represented Seychelles. Laird swam in the 50m free, 100m free, 50m back, 100m back and 200m back in addition to swimming on several relays.
Friday's meet will be the second-to-last home meet prior to the Jaguars hosting the Summit League Championships Feb. 18-21. The Jags will also host Wisconsin-Green Bay on Jan. 15.
