INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI women's swimming and diving team improved to 4-0 in dual meets this season after posting a pair of wins Friday against Western Illinois and Saint Louis at the IUPUI Natatorium.

The Jags took down one of their conference rivals in the Leathernecks by a score of 199-42 in addition to claiming a 155-88 win over Saint Louis.

"We had a great meet tonight. We were a bit short handed due to some illnesses, but the team stepped up and performed extremely well. As we would expect, our seniors led the way starting with Margaret Barber in the 200 free and then Jennifer Oleksiak in the 200 IM," head coach Matt Bos said. "After that we were able to build a lot of momentum and it carried over throughout the meet.  Alexus Bullard and Tori Kroon are two people we will rely heavily upon over the coming years and they showed why tonight with both coming away with big wins and solid times."

The meet got off to a great start with Kroon, Bullard, Oleksiak and Maranda Buha taking first-place honors in the 200 medley relay, before Natalie Trout swam the 1,000 free in 10:43.56 to finish second.

Barber followed by giving IUPUI its first individual win of the night by touching the wall first in the 200 free at 1:54.56. Bullard and Oleksiak then followed in Barber's footsteps with wins in the 50 free and the 200 IM, respectively. Bullard's time of 24.71 earned her the victory by one-hundredths of a second, while Oleksiak's winning time of 2:09.22 was an IUPUI Top 10 time.

Bullard and Barber continued their wining ways with victories in the 100 fly and 100 free, and Bullard's time of 57.02 moved her into the IUPUI Top 10 in the event. Kroon then made it six straight individual wins for the Jags by taking the top spot in the 100 back with a mark of 58.89.

The win streak was snapped in the 500 free, but Oleksiak finished her individual events with a win in the 100 breast. Meanwhile Melissa Berger and Jessica Collins gave the Jags a lift in diving by winning the 1- and 3-meter, respectively.

The Jags closed the evening with Brittani Grove, Buha, Lauren Campbell and Barber taking the 200 free relay by .35 seconds over Saint Louis.

IUPUI returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 1, when it welcomes Western Kentucky to the IUPUI Natatorium for a 1 p.m. meet.
